Vegas Young Professionals is guided by an advisory council comprised of several community leaders who help guide the growth and direction of the organization. The council utilizes their unique strengths and influence in the community to build the VYP organization as a whole, bringing in top-notch speakers and ensuring the success of VYP on a program-by-program basis. The council is dedicated to expanding its efforts to reach more of the young professional demographic, increase community involvement and foster the business-building spirit within VYP membership.
Kelli Vaz - 2016 & 2017 Chair
Kelli Vaz is Vice President of Service Point, a sales management consulting company. Service Point is a women-owned, certified company focused on building long-term, profitable business relationships for their clients. They increase their client’s sales by improving both lead generation and pipeline development. Kelli is the key force behind much of the strategic sales solutions her company provides, and she excels at recognizing revenue and growth opportunities for its customers.
Kelli has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management coupled with more than fifteen years of exemplary operations management, account management and customer service experience across various industries. As a native of Las Vegas, Kelli is passionate about giving back to her community. She has been the Community Outreach Chair for Vegas Young Professionals for three years, organizing and attending committee meetings and volunteer projects to aid the Southern Nevada community. Kelli also volunteers her time to WBEC-West, one of 14 regional partners of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, by sitting on the Nevada Forum as Sr. Vice Chair. Most recently, Kelli was accepted into the Las Vegas Metro Chamber’s Leadership Las Vegas program and will be part of the 2016 graduating class.
Derek Hutchison - Ambassador Chair
Derek Hutchison is the District Manager for ADP Small Business Services. He moved to Las Vegas straight out of college after attending California State University, Chico & graduating Cum Laude in Hotel Management. During college, Derek had a small Pedi-Cab business to pay for his tuition and cost of living. Realizing quickly that hard work and a good attitude are the pillars of success, he was fortunate to graduate with no debt and cold called a resort in Las Vegas to get his first job. After arriving in Las Vegas he proceeded to work in the 365/24/7, customer service driven world of Las Vegas hospitality for the next 5 years. Passionate about helping others and the love of small business, Derek found ADP in October of 2011, which is when he joined VYP. He saw immediate value in networking with young professionals and building his book of business that can service businesses with 1-10,000 employees. With over 400 small business clients in 20 states, he forms strategic partnerships with his all his clients by providing the best access to people and technology for their business. Outside the office, Derek enjoys snowboarding, anything involving a beach, destination travel, some golf, and investing in Las Vegas real estate.
Matthew Baker - Ambassador Co-Chair
Matthew Baker was born and raised in Kansas City and moved to Henderson in early 2014 to pursue his career as an American Family Insurance agency owner. Before moving to Las Vegas, Matthew knew that he needed to establish a solid networking base to work off of, so he decided to get involved with VYP from day one. VYP provided the perfect opportunity to gain familiarity with a new city, and to also make moving to a new city less daunting. Meeting like-minded, professional peers has led to countless favorable business introductions and friendships that will last forever.
Shay Palmore - Community Outreach Chair
ShaLonda “Shay” Palmore is an Engineer at National Security Technologies, where she works in Energy Management reporting clean energy and sustainability. Shay graduated from University of Nevada Las Vegas with a bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a minor in Mathematics in 2010. She is also a math tutor at Nevada Homes for Youth; a non-profit organization, dedicated to providing substance abuse treatment programs, support and education for disadvantaged youth of Southern Nevada struggling with addiction. In her spare time, Shay enjoys spending time with friends, family, her two American bulldogs Maximus and Zoey, cooking and watching sports.
Matthew Lindsey - Marketing Chair

Aside from the excitement and rigorous demands of the business and entertainment industry, Matthew Lindsey has a deep passion for serving the community as a volunteer for various local philanthropic causes in the educational, non-profit, faith based sector. Lindsey is a business mentor for the Business Outreach Workforce Development program, helping local businesses increase their ability to compete in contracting opportunities.
He routinely lends his business leadership and experience to entrepreneurs and business leaders through one-on-one mentorship, classroom instruction and community outreach. Lindsey is also actively involved with the Asylee Refugee Migrant Assistance Network, a Las Vegas-based NGO that provides specialized psychological and medical services to survivors of complex traumatic stress such as survivors of torture, refugees, cult abuse and sex trafficking. Lindsey is passionate about empowering youth. Through the Jericho Project, he speaks to school-age children and teenagers on social and emotional topics such as character building, bullying, self-esteem and forgiveness.
Lindsey is an ambassador for VYP and the Metro Chamber. He also serves on the Advisory Council and Collegiate Board. In his leisure time, Lindsey enjoys studying and enjoying wines of the world, astronomy, cycling and reading inspirational texts.
Emily Hill - VYP Toastmasters Liasion
Emily Hill moved to Las Vegas from Washington State in 2013 to join a team of people chasing a crazy dream—starting a church in the Arts District Downtown. She is one of the pastors at Sought Church, a church startup meeting Sundays at 10 in Art Square Theatre. Emily is also a sign language interpreter and a motivational and inspirational speaker. She is the current President of the explosively growing VYP Toastmasters club, where she's achieved her Advanced Communicator Bronze and Advanced Leader Bronze on the path to being a Distinguished Toastmaster! Chad Kaercher is a third generation Las Vegan representing one of the oldest insurance firms in the valley, Kaercher Insurance. After attending the Meadows School and Faith Lutheran Sr. High School he pursued his BA in Political Science and Economics at the University of Colorado Boulder. Kaercher Insurance has been involved with the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce for nearly 50 years offering risk management and innovative solutions that transcends simply buying insurance. As the millennial generation begins to expand into the business economy of Las Vegas, Chad is excited to represent the future generations of Las Vegas as a chair member of Vegas Young Professionals.
