On Easter Sunday, VYP members, Ambassadors, and Council members volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House of Las Vegas to donate their time, food, and good spirits to deserving families. The Ronald McDonald House provides temporary housing for families in need who travel to Las Vegas to receive critical medical treatment for their children. The facilities are warm, comfortable, and provide a caring environment for families facing medical challenges with the recovery of their children. At Ronald McDonald House of Las Vegas, families can exchange stories and provide support for one another. 

There were about nine people from VYP involved in preparing dinner for about thirty guests at the house. The menu consisted of smoked ham, tossed salad, hard boiled eggs, sweet potatoes, corn, bread, cookies, and candy which were all donated. The volunteers arrived early afternoon to get the food ready for some of the families who were at the hospital all day awaiting their child's surgery.

After dinner was prepared, the resident manager, Jeannette Page, gave everyone a tour of the home and shared heartfelt stories about past guests who lived there. The guests who had dinner that evening expressed their appreciation for the home cooked meal with big smiles.

The VYP Community Outreach Committee helps VYP  and our members give back. Cooking Easter dinner was one of the many volunteer activities the group has in store this year.
